Reading is a daily activity in my classroom. Right now, all of my fifth grade students are able to read, but a good majority of them are not on the appropriate reading level. I hope to solve this problem by first creating a desire to read. Once my students are in a space where they feel comfortable and they want to be there, they will begin picking up more books. We all know that the only way to improve reading fluency and comprehension skills is by actually reading. With this reading rug, my students will be encouraged to sit in my classroom library and pick up a book!
