It is scientifically proven that reading increasing reading scores. However, that is hard to do when faced with students who consistently say they do not like to read. Most are just hesitant because they do not have a good selection to read from. That is where the problem lies and where a solution is needed. The only way to increase reading for struggling readers is to provide them with a good selection of high interest novels at different levels and that cover different topics. This selection of books provides a solution as it will help motivate my struggling readers to read as they work on vocabulary and comprehension skills. This will greatly impact their academic scores as well as their endurance in reading.
