The use of flexible seating will help students of differing needs focus on learning. While chairs are still useful in a classroom setting. In our classroom, students will be able to use the flexible seating during both small group lessons and independent work. It will offer them the opportunity to address sensory needs while learning. Flexible seating allows for students who are a little more wiggly than others to move and learn at the same time (bonus: they are even moving oxygen to the brain which allows for more learning!) Some of the other benefits of flexible seating are the building of appropriate classroom behaviors, encouraging positive peer interactions, and allows for students to be comfortable in an environment where they spend a great deal of their time.
