Imagine not knowing if you'll grow up, not when, but if. Imagine one small choice determining your future. My seniors, about to enter society, will conduct discussion seminars from exposure to other racial, gender and cultural experiences-true life experiences! They need different perspectives and some of them to be reassured they are not alone. Some of these nonfiction experiences mirror some of my students' experiences, but I want them to know they, too, can make a difference in the world. These non-fiction titles provide real life stories that I aim to use as an empowerment for my students to make better decisions not inly in an academic environment but also in society.
