About my class

The objective of this project is to enrich student reading comprehension by using a book that students find engaging. Students tend to really enjoy this book, which in turn increases their reading comprehension because they are invested in the story. This practice is helpful because they learn skills that transfer to reading comprehension in other subjects as well. I’m very passionate about teaching this particular book. I have even had parents tell me that they started reading this book series because their student liked it so much. I have had substitute teachers tell me they are sad they don't get to keep reading the book with my class! After reading this book in my Achieve class, I always have students going to the library to get the next books in the series, which also shows my students who “don’t like to read” that books can be fun!
