Have you seen Peter Pan, Dr. Seuss, Chicago plays? They are colorful with wonderful costumes that cannot be made out of every day outfits. Some could be purchased online, but they would be very expensive. Sewing costumes ourselves will save a lot of money while enabling Drama students to get an experience in sewing clothes/costumes. Sewing is an important skill: first, it allows you to create and customize your own costumes; secondly, sewing improves dexterity ; then, you save money, you can mend your own clothes and finally, you gain confidence because you have acquired a marketable skill. What is not to like?!
