Providing books for the book clubs will help students learn and grow. It will allow them to be able to take on learning roles such as discussion leader, reading leader, timer, summarizer, and word finder. These roles will help them to learn in a collaborative environment. Students will learn to work in groups and how to ensure that everyone has a voice that is heard. Voicing their understanding and ideas will allow the students an ability to know that their ideas are valuable. The written tasks that will be included in each book group will help students in their spelling, grammar, and ability to infer from the text.
