My students are undertaking a Service Learning project. Our school is located in Downtown Dallas, and they see a large portion of homeless people on their way to/from school and from the windows of our building. My class wants to start a quail coop to donate money and eggs to a local homeless shelter. They will be documenting the process to share with their classmates, families, and community to raise awareness. As their teacher we will be focusing on Social Emotional Learning and Business Management; empathy for animals and those less fortunate, tying in the management and advertisement for a business.
