My students are always moving! We do many activities that get them out of their seats and collaborating with each other, but there are times where we are doing work that requires students to be sitting. While some of my students can focus and work in chairs, many of my students need to be moving in some sort of way. Two of my students have rocking chairs, but there are others that do not have anything and are sitting stagnant. Before those two students used their alternative seating, they were disruptive, distracted, and in turn, distracting others. Since then, their behavior has improved and the classroom has become more productive. Alternative seating provides students with the freedom to get their wiggles out and become more focused learners. The donations will allow them to move, bounce, rock, and will also give them the sensory input some of them need in the classroom. By funding alternative seating such as a wobble chair, wobble cushion, and balance ball seat, students will be able to work to the best of their ability. All students deserve to be learning in the best possible environment and alternative seating is one of the ways to provide this!
