Being kind is free and showing kindness to others will help spread happiness to everyone. As a social worker, I have the opportunity to work with all the students in the building. I have been making personal T-shirts that promote and remind students to be kind. I began wondering how I can expand, so more students will be excited to show kindness when I am not around reminding them. Through many sleepless nights, I have decided that purchasing a Cricut would help to spread kindness in the school. There are numerous ways that a Cricut can be used in a school. A few ways include making cards for students who are sick, making a certificate to recognize a student, placing positive statements around the school hallways and bathroom stalls, etc. The big project I have in mind is to make kindness tshirts with students. If given the opportunity, I want to find several students that are showing kindness and allow them to make a kindness shirt. Students will get to choose a design, weed their shirt and place it on the heat press. They will be able to wear the shirt around and promote others to work on being the kind, so they can also be chosen to make a shirt. When I cannot be around asking students to name a way they have shown kindness, I am hoping the other students will start asking other students. When we start looking for positive interactions, the hope is that students will start being kind to others on a daily basis. This will be a great opportunity for students, and I hope I can see more kind deeds happening in the school.
