Every year I teach my students about people who have positively impacted our communities. They are assigned a biography project where they get to research about an individual who has had an impact on our world. They need to research their chosen individual, make a bottle figure of their person, and write a biography. It can be a struggle to find kid-friendly books that are in Spanish. My students are in a Spanish Dual Immersion setting and they are encouraged to find resources in Spanish to complete this project. I want my students to practice and immerse themselves in the target language. If this project is funded, each student would have a book to assist with their research. By having these books available to them, my students will be engaged and eager to read about their important individual. It will definitely help enrich their Spanish vocabulary while giving them the valuable information they will need to be successful in completing this project.
