During our class, students have the opportunities to use their iPads to read books through free apps, such as EPIC. Generally, during 1st grade, students cannot read as well as older grades, so they listen to books in their grade level. These headphones are used for students to privately listen to books during reading time so they do not disrupt everyone else who is reading. Students will use these headphones during assessment times. It is very difficult to understand prompts and instructions for tests when you have 15+ iPads or tablets all talking out loud at once. These headphones would help students be able to listen without interfering with other students' attention towards their own assessments.
