The use of hands-on activities is a must on a daily basis. Students need to be moving in order to stay focused. Using hands on manipulatives will help in keeping that focus on their school work as well as being able to differentiate. Research has shown that kinesthetic learning is especially important in the classroom because students become more engaged and focused when they're working on hands-on projects. Students who participate in these hands-on projects develop problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, as well as gain exposure to reactions, and materials. By using a hands-on approach with our students, allows our students to build on their 21st Century Skills and make connections to STEAM education. Students will be able to simply focus on the academic material at hand.
