Painting and drawing, cutting and gluing, these are classic preschool activities. Art encourages creativity, provides hands-on lessons of colors, while engaging children in an activity that's enjoyable and calming. Developmentally, it builds eye-hand coordination and fine motor strength- both important aspects of pre-writing skills. Art is a multi-beneficial activity for young children, it's important that I provide material like trays, glue, paper, and scissors for art activities during distant learning in order to give my students something fun to do with their parents while at home as they continue to gain from the benefits of art.
