The braille books created with the supplies requested will be used to enhance the braille-rich environment that I strive to create for each and every one of my students. A classroom library is there for students to learn to enjoy books, but braille students have very little access to books in braille when compared to the print books available to their typically sighted peers. With new braille books created for them and even by them, my students will be able to choose from a wider variety of books in braille that will allow them to read independently at their own grade level. They will also be able to choose braille books that interest them. The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and having access to more books in braille will help my students continue to grow stronger in reading.
