I teach a class called AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination). In AVID through Writing Inquiry Collaboration Organization (and) Reading I teach students strategies that will support them through their academic journey. In AVID we use a flexible grouping collaboration configuration to optimize our learning. Every Tuesday and Thursday we have outside tutors come in to work with students in their core subjects. The tutors work with 6 or less students in small groups. The desk and white board would give my students the additional resources we need to have the "Tutorial Groups". Presently we have tutors come in and I don't have the proper whiteboards or student desk to make the ideal configurations so that the students are able to have the best experience in their groups.
