Covid has interrupted learning a great deal. This whole situation is such a disservice to all students, but my students in particular are really suffering due to living in an urban, impoverished area. Many students do not even have pencils or paper in their home and have difficulty completing art projects. Sketchbooks would help provide them with an organized platform to house drawings. During these crazy times, art class in particular is so important for helping students’ mental health. Creative outlets can help students stay positive and help them not to get discouraged during these unsettling times.
