The materials will help our students to create a hydroponic aquarium commonly referred to as aquaponics. The students will begin by planting seeds to germinate in plant sponges in the net cups. Once the plant is ready; the students will place the plant in a mason jar. The students will use the organic expanded clay pebbles to place in the bottom and around the plant of the mason jar to provide nutrients that will be placed on the top of the jar. The students will place a goldfish into the jar; therefore, creating an aquaponics system which they can take home to investigate the interactions.
