Using the materials requested, like beanbags, hula hoops, badminton, and other active play equipment will help my special education students to be more active in the playground. Active play can develop their social and physical skills, promote psychological well-being thus encouraging their natural and essential competence and a sense of belonging. Being on the playground will give the students a chance to develop healthy and active bodies and to learn decision making, fine motor skills and compromise in fair play. The active play would also assist the students in sharpening their social and cognitive perceptions. Offering opportunities for noncompetitive and unstructured play will help to develop their self-esteem and increase their interests in-game challenges.
