I want my students to feel completely 'zen' when they enter my room so that they are able to face any challenges they are experiencing in a positive, healthy way. When you were a 7th grader did you feel motivated to go to school? It's even harder for students with unique challenges that make them stand out to others. I know my students with special needs deserve a place where they can feel comfortable to safely express themselves in a bully-free calming environment. Help us enhance our safe space with comfortable furniture, a common table, and calm lighting. My students just can't wait to get this project funded so that they can enjoy a special corner in our room! This period of time in our classroom is one of the most stressful of the year, as we must do daily state test review prep and I would like my students to be comfortable by using our new cozy furniture so they put in their best effort! I just love to play relaxing music to help my students slow down and unwind so they can find their "zen!" This room will represent the quiet and calmness that can exist within an otherwise busy, fast-paced, and sometimes scary world. Help me make it come to life!
