Our fifth grade students will be working on creating compositions with at least two contrasting colors. I am interested in teaching screen printing to my fifth graders because it's both a fun experience and a viable career option. My objectives for teaching screen printing are as follows: - Students will create a high contrast drawing which they will then trace to create a stencil. - Students will use at least two different colors that contrast from one another when printing. - Students will practice mixing colors to create varying color combinations. - Students will apply stencil and photographic silkscreen processes to create a series of prints. - Students will critique their print series with their peers, focusing on color, contrast, and composition. Screen printing could also be a great for our school festivals. I could run a customizable t-shirt stand similar to what I saw at the festival. It could also help me raise more money for my art classroom! Please help us expand our learning and our art budget!
