These materials and how they will be taught will make a difference in engagement and participation in my music classes. Students will get to learn music skills that they can take with them when they move on to high school and into life beyond K-12 education. These materials will help give the students a meaningful and exciting learning experience. I get an opportunity that not all music teachers get: to teach the 80% of the school population that doesn't participate in classical/traditional music training such as choir, band, and orchestra. My students are eager to learn about the world of music around them and these instruments will jump start them on that journey.
