For this project, my students will create there own personal Dream Big poster. The poster will show example of how they would like there life to be after high school. There will be 5 categories Home, Transportation, Clothes, Food, and Entertainment. Each category will give example of how they would like to live. They next step they will have to find the price for the items selected. This will give them a realistic idea of the cost of living. We will also learn what it take to maintain each category. For example: -By using the ziplock bags, cleaning supplies, and organizers students will learn how to cleaning and organizing a house -Maintaining a car -Taking care of clothes -Cooking and making small meals -What to do for fun! At the end of the project, each student will have to compare their cost of living to their career interest. We will then go on to explore the level of education needed to may their dream a reality. Weekly, students will host parent meetings where different agencies will come to the classroom to present to students and parents. These agencies provide resources to help our student achieve there post secondary goals. The students will create a welcoming environment for parents and guest by providing water, coffee and snacks. Students will also present there Dream Big poster. Incentives will be given to students.
