My students really love learning through hands-on investigations! I love providing them with opportunities to do that! Some of the best kits are so costly that I couldn't possibly ever fund them myself. The Snap Circuit kits are amazing! The kids were introduced to these kits in fourth grade when they used them to investigate electricity. I would like to provide them with kits to explore the fifth grade science standards of light, sound, motion and energy.
I want to provide opportunities for families to Unplug and Reconnect with each other! The kids continually talk about playing on their game systems, phones and tablets in the evening. If they had something interesting to take home and explore with their family, it would get them away from the electronics that are robbing families of time to connect with each other!
Students could sign out to take the kit home for two days. They would return it on the due date so the next student could take it home to use with their family. The tote bags will be decorated with the project title, "Unplug and Reconnect", and will be used to transport the kits to and from school. I can't wait to provide this incredible opportunity to my kids and their families!
