The books that I am requesting will support student learning in my fifth grade class. My students need access to a leveled classroom library for effective independent and partner reading. Students need more choices of books so that they can choose titles that interest them. When students have an interest in their books they are more likely to engage in longer, meaningful reading. Half of my class are English language learners and giving them access to a classroom library with more choices will support their English language development. Students need choice and volume in their classroom book selection. This project supports reading success.
