At-risk students can be the hardest to love. They are full of excuses, “I don’t have a pencil,” “I don’t have any paper,” “I can’t do my project, I don’t have any poster board.” However, these tough kids are some of the most creative and innovative students in our school. Our new mentor program is targeting these students and is focused on two major goals: #1 show love and support to our at-risk students; #2 take away these students’ excuses to fail. We need your help with #2. The supplies we are requesting will be distributed directly to our mentee students during our morning check-in sessions, so they can be ready to learn when they get to class. We believe that positive support and academic success are the keys to keeping our at-risk kids in school. A small donation now can pay back big dividends. The successes we achieve at the middle school level will turn them into students who graduate from high school, and then become productive American citizens! Help us show our kids that people are caring and compassionate about helping those in need. We are grateful for your donations!
