I believe that students need the option to express themselves through various forms of artistic self expression. Not all students have access to art materials to explore their differing potentials. If they see that we care enough to provide quality furniture and materials, they know that we care about them and are willing to invest in their dreams. Art is a huge part of Native American cultures, so it is only natural to make a big investment in an art program for our students. Art is vital to an indigenous curriculum. We should know about the history of various tribal art mediums and how to carry on those practices. This has always been a dream for me; to give students the opportunity to explore who they are and who their ancestors were by making materials and mediums accessible for artistic growth and creativity.
