My classroom is a typical high school science classroom, however the curriculum that we cover is special - I teach students how the universe works through the lens of forces, energy, and matter (physics). Students cannot learn effectively without doing laboratory investigations that allow for the collection of real-time data and analysis. My students are passionate about their subjects, and they are still just as much of a sponge for learning as they were when they were elementary school students. I want to provide my students with the best opportunity to learn every time they come to my classroom. Part of what incorporates an effective science classroom is giving the students opportunities to work together to ask new questions, come up with a plan to investigate those questions, and then draw their conclusions. Not a day goes by where we are not learning something new in physics!
