Studies have shown that male students have difficulty sitting straight in desks because of the shape of their tailbones. Many classrooms have begun to use air cushions on their seats to help students sit up straighter and they have been proven to help students with ADHD. In a world where media has taught students that they have to be constantly entertained, many who are not diagnosed with ADHD also have trouble learning to sit still. These cushions will also aid with that. I have a few fidget toys already in use in my classroom and they are definitely helpful for those usually disrupt class by tapping or drumming.
