A snoezelen is a researched-base therapy used for people with autism and developmental disabilities. It is a soothing and stimulating environment designed to create stimuli to various senses with light effects, color, sound, touch, and scents. By creating this environment, it will help my autistic students to reach a sense of balance aiding them in the relaxation process, and reducing anxiety and pain. It also increases a student's potential to focus on his own and improve communication and functioning. I firmly believe my students' learning experience will benefit from this tremendously. I refuse to believe that my students can't make progress!
