A set of classroom ukuleles would allow my students to understand how the instruments work and give them the opportunity to learn how to play them before they construct their own in 6th grade with my colleague, Ms. L., in her STEAM program. It is the goal of Ms. L/ and I to teach our students how to play ukuleles that they have designed themselves so that they may leave elementary school with their own ukuleles to keep, allowing them to play throughout their lives. Your donation would provide our music classroom with the tools to teach students in younger grades how to play the ukulele, thus preparing them for 6th grade when they design their own. With a classroom set of ukuleles, the students will be skilled ukulele players by the end of elementary school and will have an instrument of their own to keep playing!
