We currently have three very large, bright rectangular tables that take up a huge amount of space in our classroom. Our class sizes at my school fluctuate from year to year, and although the tables can meet our needs fine on a larger year, the average year they are too much. They are also very bright colors which can be overstimulating for many children as they try to focus on their task. These smaller, trapezoid tables give us the flexibility to meet the needs of varying class sizes as well as change the seating to fit different needs for the hands-on activities kindergarten students need and love. They are also gray in color so there is no fear of additional distraction.
