During small group instruction, I am able to effectively differentiate for my students. We have a wide range of needs in our classroom, but it is during small group where I feel like I can be fully present and provide the one-on-one time that so many of my students crave. In a small group, I may be back-filling concepts that students are missing, helping them grapple with grade-level material, or providing learning extensions to those who are ready for more. I present all students with grade-level material each day, but it is the small groups I pull throughout the day that enjoy the most. I appreciate the opportunity to address my students' specific needs in a manageable way. I know that it will only get better with a flexible seating opportunity at our small group table!
