My students need a hands-on outlet to apply what they are learning in the classroom. Students in my classroom like to do projects, labs, and create things that don't typically happen in other classrooms. Our school does not have an outlet with applying animal science concepts, so I would like to have an egg incubator and chicken cook to allow them the opportunity. My students have struggled with concepts that come with teaching animal science- from animal reproduction to livestock care techniques. Students who have the ability to apply the concepts taught in my class are better able to retain in the information, all while reducing stress and anxiety. Many of my students aspire to be veterinarians, doctors, and animal technologists. Hatching and raising chicks is a gateway to make learning come to life. My students will love getting their hands on some chicks.
