This year, I was one of four teachers in my school who piloted flexible seating with my 1st graders. As we are getting used to the change in desks, seats, and storage I am learning more and more about what is best for my first graders. Although we have a lot of seating options, I have noticed that this Comfy Bench fits best at our circle table and the kids really love to use it. They try to squeeze as many as they can on it at once. It is one of the few seats that we have that gives them enough room to comfortably sit without fear of falling off. Unfortunately, although the seat is big enough for 2 students to sit on, it makes it difficult when trying to complete activities during the day. The students have mentioned that they would love to have more of these seats in the classroom. I explained that they were out of my budget so I know they would be completely shocked if they walked in one day to having more of these seats around the table. They use this during all times of the day. Their favorite time to use it is during independent reading because they can spread out with a good book and just be comfy while learning. The students and I would appreciate help in getting these new seats that would be used daily! Thank you.
