The materials I am requesting for my students will be put to great use every day. Often times I can be found comforting and consoling a student for various reasons. I work with young children who can have a difficult time expressing themselves. The whiteboard easel can be used by them to draw pictures or write words to communicate how they are feeling. I also have students who use my office as a calming space when they are anxious, tense or stressed. The stress balls, fidget spinners, bean bag chairs, and sensory items will help this space be a more welcoming environment in which I will be able to help my students regulate their emotions. I do small groups and whole group social skills lessons in classrooms PreK-5th grade so the books and social skills games will come in handy for that as well.
