My students will be working on different landscapes and spring paintings. The lessons include learning how to depict perspective and value in a landscape drawing. The students can select an imaginary landscape, an image from a recycled calendar or from their environment. Students will be scored on their ability to depict foreground, middle ground, and background. They will also be graded on their effort, attitude and craftsmanship. Some of my students’ best works will be matted and hung up nicely in my classroom. Having a meeting space in my room with a comfortable rug for my class to sit on will be such a great way to share ideas and have group discussions especially with my pre-k -2nd grades. I want my classroom to be warm and welcoming and this will make a great addition. We will be able to sit and have art critiques and discuss current and upcoming work.
