Part of my small group time includes students reading independently. Having a section of the classroom geared solely for reading will get the student in the mode for reading and learning takes place even though they are pleasure reading. The small Post-It pads will be utilized for student agency while creating anchor charts for the skill of the week. Research says that if the student does it they will remember it. Therefore, the students create the classroom anchor charts for the skill of the week and these pads will allow for easy displaying of the student's work. Research also says that the "Stand and Deliver" method does not work. Therefore, I am a walk around teacher and having the cordless presentation clicker allows for me to get away from the computer cart and be in the presence of my students at all times.
