The students love using the pianos that are in my classroom. Luckily I have a set of pianos for about half the class to use. The biggest issue is that I don't have enough books for them all to use individually. The students share the few books we have which makes it more difficult for them to maintain their own pace. If two students are sharing a book and one of the students is ready to move on things become complicated. The student who wants to move ahead becomes bored and the student who is struggling will feel pressured to rush. If all the students were to have their own book to use then they can all work at their own pace. This will also help me coach all of the students on an independent level as I can focus on their individual needs.
