I teach in Bolingbrook, Illinois in a title 1 school. These first graders come from diverse backgrounds, including second language learners. Our students do not get many opportunities to see beyond the walls that surround them. Having the opportunity to actively participate in this science project will enhance their understanding of the world around them. This project will help students learn science through an inquiry based series of developmentally appropriate inquiry lessons. This will support the development of important scientific reasoning skills such as asking questions about the natural world, designing investigations that can answer those questions, collecting data and drawing conclusions.

About my class
