By providing my students with this kidney table, the student will be given the opportunity to better engage in small-group speech therapy instruction. My therapy room only has round table with large-adult sized chairs, which makes it hard to keep student engagement during small groups as there either is not enough space at the table for students, or students are too far away from the therapist that they become unengaged. With this kidney table, I will be able to engage students in a small-group lesson while providing students with enough space from each other. At the same time, we would be able to reach each student when engaging with manipulatives and therapy materials without having to move around the table constantly.
