My forensic science class includes many labs where students are asked to compare samples of evidence, such as hair, fibers, or soils. It is very difficult to make and observe a slide from a traditional microscope, and then repeat the process with another slide, all the while remembering the differences between the two. A comparison microscope will give my students real world experience analyzing evidence in an engaging, efficient and productive way. We will use this comparison microscope nearly every day we are in the lab and it will make the class and our learning standards so much more impactful and relatable for students.
