In a world of instant gratification, creating art with watercolors will teach my students to slow down, focus, and be intentional. Social-emotional development is a major area of focus for the students this year. Creating art will not only help the students express themselves but also reinforce growth mindset and perseverance. Watercolors sets will allow students to use their creativity in cross-curricular projects and engage in the curriculum in a more meaningful way. With watercolor sets students will be able to paint maps of the world instead of labeling a worksheet, or paint different ecosystems instead of coloring them with crayons.
