In first grade we are learning a lot about the life cycle of animals. We have been trying for a month to get these Butterfly Gardens and were just told the school doesn't have the money to get them this year. Our students have been, so excited to have caterpillars in our classroom and see them turn in to butterflies. They are very eager to start watching the caterpillars turn into butterflies. My class has been struggling with the understanding of the life cycle and with this project I believe they will understand it better. Our school currently has some students in person and others online. This project will allow both our students online and in person to observe the life cycle and be engaged in the activities. We have been struggling with the understanding of the life cycle and this will be a way for the students to actually see the life cycle happening. I have included 3 sets, so that each of the first grade classrooms will be able to have a set.
