These items will help create an inviting educational setting. I have found students tend to focus more on the subject being taught when they feel like they are in a comfortable environment. They feel more "at home" and are willing to ask more questions and do more work. In the past, I have attempted to furnish innovative seating options, but with limited personal funds, I have only obtained used furniture pieces which don't hold up well. Students, even those in High School, enjoy having their school feel like something fun. So many high school classrooms are standard desks, or tables with hard, uncomfortable chairs. I have seen the impact that color and comfort have on student learning and want to bring that to my newest teaching assignment.
