When students enter a choice-based art room, they expect to create and learn by experiencing many aspects of art. By providing acrylic paint for them, you are replenishing our consumable materials. Students plan, build, and create multiple projects in ART/STEAM class. Each of their products require materials to make their ideas come to life. Unfortunately, when the paint is gone it eliminates painting from our curriculum. They use the paint not only on canvas, but on sculptures, displays and robotics. Although I believe all my students will create the next masterpiece, my eighth grade classes literally design moving masterpieces - they study art history and bring a painting to life as a moving masterpiece with robotics. All of it painted in acrylic paint. Paint allows students to apply creative and critical thinking skills to their own artist expression. Choosing colors gives each art piece the personal identity of the artist and builds confidence in the student.
