When students are engaged in reading books, they are practicing their reading skills, building their vocabulary, and opening their imagination. We will use these chapter books to do that in our classroom! The books will be used as both whole class reading and student choice of independent reading. Being exposed to chapter books opens students' imaginations, builds confidence in young readers, and opens the door for a deeper understanding of more complex texts across the academic curriculum. Through their understanding, students are able to use their imaginations in other areas of their life, such as in their writing. Chapter books can open the door to endless possibilities!
