I have requested many items that are very useful motivational tools and accommodations to help my students be successful learners! My students want to do well, but sometimes they need extra incentives to motivate them to attempt tasks and activities that challenge them. My students are very motivated by rewards. I included a class set of ear buds because my students use text-to-speech accommodations. The earbuds also help minimize distractions. My students also enjoy listening to music during independent work time to help them concentrate. I included many snack items because my students often come to school hungry. Many of my students do not eat on the weekends and it is impossible to learn when you are hungry. I included a class set of water bottles for students to keep in the classroom, this will help minimize students missing instruction and work time to leave the classroom to get a drink. I included candy and stickers because middle schoolers are very motivated by candy and stickers. Students are eager to answer questions and participate in class discussions when candy is involved. I included a variety of fidgets. My students struggle to focus, and fidgets help them concentrate during instruction and independent work time. My students love the simple dimples, bubble wrap poppers, and liquid motion bubblers. These fidgets are great accommodations for students.
