We do a tremendous amount of writing in my English class. The majority of my students identify as visual learners. Currently, students are unable to draft and brainstorm their ideas in visual form before starting the writing process. Incorporating space for students to make their own visual aids places an emphasis on writing being a process, not a high stakes event. If students are able to express themselves in an alternative way, it will enhance their understanding of the content and also allow them to teach each other. This project caters to the current needs of my students. My job as their teacher is to draw upon their strengths. Incorporating visual aids in to the classroom will further enhance their learning.
