Every student is a unique individual. They are each built differently, tall, short, strong core, weak core, energetic, calm. One standard size chair can not meet each child's individual needs for comfort, sensory input or learning style. My students need more choices to meet their individual learning styles and body types. Providing more flexible seating options would create an environment that would help accommodate individual needs. Every student benefits from the use of alternative seating because when you are comfortable and your needs are met you are more focused and engaged during work time. Sitting in traditional chairs all day isn't always conducive to learning.
